• After the war, moved to San Francisco and was a copywriter for BBDO Advertising.
•Returned to Lincoln where she worked as Director of Activities at the Nebraska Student Union and was president of the Student Union Board of Directors.
After George’s death …
• became a licensed realtor, working for twelve years before retirement.

• George's grandfather and the man he was named after, George Ward Holdrege, was the general manager of Burlington Lines West. George W Holdrege named the train depot in Colorado “Holyoke” … which later became the Town of Holyoke, CO
