• A William Holyoke (a clerk) was also listed in the 1859 directory and listed as living in the same address as Edward.

Notes for Maria (Spouse 1)
• Maria Bassett Holyoke married Edward Augustus Holyoke III on 23 Nov 1852. They had two children, Edward Augustus Holyoke IV and Bessie Holyoke. After her husband's death 22 May 1862.
• Maria returned to Syracuse where she married Doctor Oscar Bartlett, a widower, whose first wife was Edward Augustus's sister, Maria Osgood Holyoke. Oscar Bartlett and Maria Bassett Holyoke Bartlett had a son, John Bartlett, who died in his teens.
• Late in life, they moved to Nebraska where they lived the rest of their lives with Maria Bassett Holyoke Bartlett's son, Edward Augustus Holyoke, and his wife, Emma Maryann Whitbread Holyoke.
