• Some record lists his place of birth as “Kingsclear, York, New Brunswick, Canada”, however he was actually born in “Brewer, Penobscot, ME” His parents did not leave Brewer, Penobscot, Maine for Canada until 1830.
• It is believed he built the house now referred to the “Kingshead Inn in the Kings’ Landing Historical Site.”
• According to the 1851 Census for East Canada, Joseph was living with his father.
• Between 1865 - 1866 his occupation is listed as a farmer.
• 1871, he is recorded as living in - , York, New Brunswick - as a farmer.
• 1878 records showed he owned the Kingsclear, New Brunswick property which his father had earlier sold to Mr. Treadwell.
