• Alice was sent away to Tewksbury Women's Prison (not because she was a criminal but because of the situation she was in … to protect her) While in Tewksbury, she gave birth to Edward C. Holyoke. The birth record was sealed due to the situation.

• The father may have been either James Clifton Finch, or George Holyoke (Alice's father). Both men denied it. Both men were locked up for a short time to straighten out the situation, one was supposedly sent to Bridgewater Prison and unsure where the other was sent.
