• A Carpenter from Taunton, MA, when he enlisted at Dedham, MA on August 9, 1861 and was mustered into the 18th Mass. Infantry on August 24, 1861 as a Private in Co. H. He was on detached service with the Pioneer Corps during the siege of Petersburg, VA from June to August 1864. He was mustered out of military service at Readville, MA on Sept. 2, 1864 at the expiration of his three year enlistment.
