• Some records lists his date of death as “4 May 1927”
• Name at birth was actually Hinkle CHRISTOPHER, he was adopted by a HOLYOKE. I have no record of which HOLYOKE adopting him, however, I suspect he may have been adopted by the Rev. William Edward HOLYOKE, Jr. and Maria Ballard.
• I suspect he was taken in at around 1864 / 1865, after the death of his biological father.
•There is a record of a Charles S HOLYOKE residing in Chicago, IL in 1870 … Some files record his middle initials as “R,” i.e 1920 U.S. Census.
• In 1870 there appears some relationship with a Alexander HOLYOKE and a William E HOLYOKE. Not sure if they’re brothers, father & sons or what.
• In the 1880 Census, I found a relationship between a Will HOLYOKE and a Henrietta HOLYOKE, also of Chicago, IL. I suspect they are husband and wife. Not sure if Will is the same as William E. HOLYOKE mentioned earlier.
