• If searched, one can find the Canadian Holyoke families listed as Native Americans. This is in fact not entirely true - they were considered Native Canadian, a term generally used in the mid-1800’s to indicate that they were born in Canada.
• Some records list his middle name as “Cork or Cord” or …in one case a record simply lists his name as “Cork Holyoke”, which is probably due to the poor condition of the 1851 Census for East Canada.
• In 1866 William received his AB from Harvard College.
• In 1872 he received his MD from Harvard Medical School.
• He became a Naturalized U.S citizen In 1883
• 1890, he was a physician at 413 Shawmut Avenue, Boston, MA.
• He is said to have prepared a genealogy based on the original 1762 version by Edward HOLYOKE as added to by Charles Galen HOLYOKE in August, 1875.
