• CARROLL'S BOOT AND CLOTHING STORE ... in both Townsville and Charters Towers, and it was in connection with the boot trade that was famous. The Townsville store was first and it was run by John Carroll, the older brother of Terence. John then opened a Charters Towers branch was managed and supervised byTerence Carroll.

• In 1899, ” ... the dissolution of partnership of the firm of Terence Carroll and Co., wherein they quote a few prices, m wiring tbt big retortions in order to clear out the'poods and realise money in the shortest posfdble time. Each partner must be paid ...”
